Doris Taulbert Carnes, age 81, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Edgewater, surrounded by her loving family. A private memorial will be held in Edgewater.
Mrs. Carnes was born in Charleston, West Virginia on February 16, 1929. The much beloved matriarch of our family will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, James Carnes; daughter, Barbara Stephenson; grandsons, D.J. and Brian Stephenson; brother, Larry Taulbert; sisters, Betty Blackwell, Nancy Norman, Peggy Hobbs, and Sandra Taulbert. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that were touched by her loving kindness. Of special mention is niece Amanda Campbell Ray.
Mrs. Carnes was preceded in death by her parents, William "Buddy" Taulbert and Nona (Jones) Taulbert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Carnes' name to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, Florida 32129.
