OAK HILL -- Scandal at City Hall is not limited to the police department. NSBNews.net has learned that City Clerk/Administrator Laura Goodearly is a convicted criminal. And she's seeking a raise at tonight's City Commission meeting.

When told of NSBNews.net's report that Goodearly was adjudicated guilty in 2004, for conviction to driving under the influence, Mayor Darla Lauer responded: "Oh my God, I had no idea."

City Commissioner Linda Hyatt was equally floored. "I had no idea," she said. "Any news about our city staff concerns me, especially when it sheds yet another bad light on us." The City Commission meets at 6 tonight and on the agenda is a raise request for Goodearly, who has refused to return messages left for comment.

Goodearly is the only high-ranking administrator among Volusia County's 16 municipalities and in Volusia County government with a criminal record.
