Department of Defense identifies Daytona Beach soldier killed in action in Afghanistan

DAYTONA BEACH – Army Spc. Keith T. Buzinski of Daytona Beach was killed when his unit in Afghanistan was attacked by small arms fire, the Department of Defense confirmed Saturday. He was 26 years old when he lost his life.

Buzinski was supporting "Operation Enduring Freedom" in the Logar Province of Afghanistan when the attack occurred.

Defense officials said in a press release that Buzinski died Thursday from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire.

Buzinski was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4thBrigade Combat Team, 10 th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, N.Y.

He had just returned to Afghanistan for his second tour of duty and had lived in Daytona Beach for seven years.
