"Show Me the Money" drawing big audience

NSBNews.net continues to generate more and more readers throughout Central Florida and top rankings on the Google News Directories. The first segment of our "Show me the Money" investigative series, headlined "New Smyrna Beach taxpayer money benefiting Mayor Adam Barringer's new restaurant/bar in Maitland" was the top ranked story in the Google listings for New Smyrna Beach, FL and Maitland, FL just before the 5 o'clock hour this morning.

So, too, was our four-story canine package, "Edgewater Police Department's new k-9 means bad karma for crooks" in Google's news directory for Edgewater, FL.

And while New Smyrna Beach elected officials and city administrators have ignored NSBNews.net's media inquiries for the "Show Me the Money" series and pretending we don't exist, people on the Internet aren't ignoring us or our hard-driven stories.

At 1:37 a.m. we peaked at 137 viewers online at NSBNews.net. At 1:58 a.m., there were 105 online with us. At 2:11 a.m. there were 106. Typically between 1 and 5 a.m., we're lucky to have 2 or 3 on our website.

The most viewers we've ever had online at any one time was last Monday when we had a story on the Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard trade saga with 175 online at one time.

NSBNews.net is a tiny operation compared to the print publications like the Daytona Beach News-Journal and the Orlando Sentinel, but when it comes to stories posted online, Google is the great equalizer for a 21st-century media-hungry public.

The mayor can ignore my media questions in public and call me names, but all he has to do is do a Google search for "New Smyrna Beach Mayor Adam Barringer" and see what comes up on the first page of the inquiry. Here's a link to that search as of 5 a.m.: https://www.google.com/search?q=new+smyrna+beach+mayor+adam+barringer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
