Shaq to Orlando Magic as GM?

Shaquille O'NealORLANDO -- After his first four years in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, Shaquille O'Neal left the Orlando Magic as a free agent for the riches of the Los Angeles Lakers. Now he may be headed to the Magic as their new general manager.

Multiple sports outlets are reporting what was first reported by ESPN's Chris Brousard who tweeted: "As first reported on @NBAonESPN, the Orlando Magic will interview @SHAQ for their vacant GM position, sources say."

If hired, Shaq's first priority would be to convince Dwight Howard to sign a long-term contract with Orlando. Just before the trade deadline, Howard signed for one more season before back surgery ended his season just before the playoffs where the Magic were bounced from the first round by the Indiana Pacers. The Magic fired coach Stan Van Gundy and GM Otis Smith after Orlando's season ended.

Shaq, who retired last year from the NBA in 2010-'11 from the Boston Celtics, after winning four championships, three with LA and the fourth with the Miami Heat. He also played for the Phoenix Suns and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Shaq is an NBA analyst for cable network TNT.
