Congresswoman Kosmas issues statement on 40th anniversary of Apollo moon landing

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas, D-New Smyrna Beach, a member of the House Science and Technology Committee, issued the following statement celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing:

"By dedicating themselves to pushing the boundaries of discovery at great personal risk, the three brave men of Apollo 11, along with the thousands of men and women who supported them on the ground, cemented our nation's leadership in science and technology and paved the way for future accomplishments in space.

"As we celebrate the historic accomplishments of Apollo 11, we must also remember that our human spaceflight program supports thousands of jobs in states across the country and that our achievements in space have led to numerous advancements on Earth.

"It is vital that we strongly support our human spaceflight program so that we can maintain America's leadership in space exploration and continue to inspire, invent, and achieve over the next 40 years and beyond."
