George Anthony, father of accused killer Casey Anthony, hospitalized in Daytona Beach

Courtesy photo. George Anthony, father of accused killer Casey Anthony, was found early Friday in a Daytona Beach motel and hospitalized, according to several Orlando media outlets.

 DAYTONA BEACH -- Several Orlando media outlets are reporting early this morning that George Anthony, the father of accused killer Casey Anthony, was located in a Daytona Beach motel by Daytona Beach police and taken to Halifax Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation. WESH TV reported on its Web site that Anthony was reported missing Thursday night from his Orange County home by his wife Cindy and that he was depressed.

The Anthonys are the grandparents of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony, whom authorities say was murdered by her mother.

WESH reported the following: "According to officials, George Anthony and his wife were expected to meet with their attorney Brad Conway on Thursday and never showed up. Both Conway and Anthony's wife Cindy, decided to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office together to file a missing person's report. Daytona Beach Police located George Anthony at the Hawaii Motel on Ridgewood Avenue near Wilder Boulevard shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday and used the Florida-Baker Act to take Anthony to Halifax Health Medical Center for a mental evaluation."

Central Florida News 13 also reported the news on its Web site and sent out a breaking news alert to subscribers. FOX 35 in Orlando reported on its Web site: "Daytona Beach police said George Anthony is being evaluated at Halifax Hospital after he sent text messages to his family that he wanted to end his life.
