NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A "Red Hatters" Art Walk will be held on historic Flagler Avenue 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday. Look for the red balloons that will mark the locations of businesses offering specials to Red Hatters.

Come for lunch as several locations will be offering specials for Red Hatters, so enjoy a fun meal with friends and then take an enjoyable stroll along the avenue, from the Indian River to the ocean, while enjoying the wide variety of art works featured inside galleries; as well as by several visiting artists under canopies.

And as an added bonus for those who may have missed the successful "Wine Walk" at last month's Art Walk, it is being held again this month, so come purchase a "wine tasting passport" to sample some outstanding wines at several locations on the avenue from 1-6 p.m.

The passports will be available at the tent at the northeast corner Flagler Avenue and Cooper Street for $20. The passports will list the locations for the wine tastings and what wines or winery will be featured at each location. Passports will include 20 tasting tickets and a keepsake glass allowing attendees to select the wines they would like to sample in exchange for their tickets.

Start at the ocean or the river or anywhere in-between. From the river heading east to the ocean, the locations are Ta Da Gallery, That's Amore, Atlantis Bistro, Jewelry of Joy, Clancy's Cantina, Gyftz, Manzano Fine Foods, Galleria di Vetro, Om Bar & Chill Lounge, Flagler Tavern and The Breakers. Hold onto your passport and present it at participating eateries and receive dinner specials that evening.

Art Walk is held the fourth Saturday of each month along the quaint five-blocks from the Indian River to the ocean. The popular event features painting, jewelry, ceramics, glass blowing, sculpture, fabric arts and more. There will be entertainment and a special "punch card" prize drawing presented by the Gallery Group of Flagler Avenue.

Be sure and get your Art Walk punch card wherever you see the blue and black flags with the white "gg" logo and get it punched at each of the sponsoring galleries and Friends of the Gallery Group locations for a chance to win the prize drawing. Palms Up Pottery, 413 Flagler Ave., will donate this month's prize, a beautiful wheel-thrown, stoneware berry bowl.

The other sponsoring galleries are: Galleria di Vetro, 310 Flagler; Jewelry of Joy, 301 Flagler, and Ta Da Gallery, 113 Flagler Ave.

Rounding out the Art Walk attractions and fun are the many quaint shops, as well as a variety of dining options, for every taste and budget. Live glass and flame-working demonstrations will be presented Kyle Carni and Jason Lott at Galleria di Vetro. Palms Up Pottery will demonstrate the art of pottery making during Art Walk.

It will be special "red-color" day. Come with your friends, enjoy lunch at one of the great restaurants, browse the wonderful shops and galleries, and then stay for a beautiful beachside sunset.
