Karen Foxman received close to 65 percent of the votes in Volusia County, the largest of the four area counties in the Aug. 26, 2014,  primary vote count for a circuit bench seat, as shown in the results at left from the Supervisor of Elections in DeLand.
 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Karen Foxman, one of the top prosecutors in the State Attorney's Office, won big in in her quest for a circuit judgeship in Volusia, Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns counties with two-thirds of the votes in last summer's primary for a circuit judgeship.

Foxman, 45, of the Daytona Beach area, whose husband, Matt Foxman, won a circuit judgeship four years ago, dominated her opponent, 52-year-old Steve Sands, of DeLand, a former assistant state attorney in Duval County who has been with the law firm of Sands, White & Sands PA since the early 1990s.

Here i the breakdon by county:

• In Volusia County, which has the largest voter total, Foxman received 43,887 votes or 64.87 percent over Sands who had 23,766 votes or 35.13 percent of the 67,653 total votes cast.

• In Flagler County, Foxman received 6,986 votes or 59.08 percent over Sands with 4,839 votes or 40.92 percent of the 11,825 total votes cast.

• In Putnam County, Foxman received 5,201 votes or 62.3 percent over Sands, who had 3,147 votes or 36.7 percent of the 8,348 votes cast.

• In St. Johns County, Foxman got received 13,606 votes or 63.47 percent over Sands with 7,832 votes or 36.53 percent of the 21,438 total votes cast.
