DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Fred Costello may be the homegrown candidate, but what matters most is what gets done in Washington for the folks back home in the 6th Congressional District and that is why former Green Beret Michael Waltz is the better choice in today's primary.
While Costello clearly lives within the CD6 borders in Ormond Beach, Waltz has a residence a couple hundred yards outside the congressional district in St. Johns County, hardly making him a "carpetbagger" as Costello would have voters believe. Just as Costello would have voters believe he's the better Trump supporter having supported his candidacy from the onset while portraying Waltz as a "Never Trumper" who jumped on the bandwagon.
Costello really didn't do himself any favors in the weeks leading to today's GOP primary when he appeared before the Southeast Volusia Republican Club and tore into Waltz for a campaign mailing he found offensive. Retired foreign ambassador Stan Escudero highlights the Costello fiasco in his Guidepost column: Reasons for Michael Waltz over Fred Costello for CD6.
