New Smyrna Beach High School Class of 2012 Valedictorian Alexandria Spradlin told her classmates the time has come for them to begin their journeys through life and not to cede decisions on where they're going to others. Here is the full text of her speech:

Anthony Michael Shaw, 35, known to local police as shown in this March booking mug, was found dead over the weekend in a homeless camp in a wooded area of Daytona Beach. His name was released to the media on Monday. How or why he died has not been released.
New Smyrna Beach High School 2012 Class President Caitlyn Zona encouraged her classmates to consider what the word "change" means to them at this point in their lives. Here is the full text of her address:
