TALLAHASSEE -- Gov. Scott released a statement Tuesday on pending legislation dealing with pharmaceutical drugs.

"I applaud Speaker Cannon, Representative Schenck and the Judiciary and Health and Human Services Committees for putting forward legislation that combats prescription drug abuse and criminal pill mills. I am also grateful to the House Appropriations Committee for unanimously passing this bill.

DAYTONA BEACH – Army Spc. Keith T. Buzinski of Daytona Beach was killed when his unit in Afghanistan was attacked by small arms fire, the Department of Defense confirmed Saturday. He was 26 years old when he lost his life.

Daytona Beach Shores police respond with SWAT team to suicide

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- A SWAT team was called in several hours after Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety officers received a call 2 p.m. Saturday of a suicidal man in his residence at 3716 S. Atlantic Ave. The man was later found dead inside his home, police said.
