DELTONA -- A trafficking amount of cocaine was taken off the streets Monday by Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies during a special suppression operation targeting street crime in the Deltona area, an agency spokesman said.
SOUTH DAYTONA -- In honor of National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 3 – Oct. 9) the South Daytona Fire Department is hosting student safety tours at the fire station at 1672 S. Ridgewood Ave. through the first week of November.
CBS Sunday Morning (Brighthouse channel 6 at 9 am) featured a story about kids’ letters from camp. It was laugh-out-loud funny and so familiar. Every kid who goes to camp wrote one during their first few days. It reminded me of the old song “Hello Mudder, Hello Fadder” (sung by Alan Sherman) which in my day was very popular, right on point and also funny unless you were that kid writing the letter.
The life of an autistic child is a difficult one. Growing up is hard enough for the rest of us, can you imagine what they go through? DELTONA -- A motorcyclist lost his life late Friday afternoon in a collision with a car near the
intersection of Haulover Boulevard and Blackburn Avenue in Deltona, a Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman said.
The biker, whose name was not released, was thrown from the motorcycle in the collision with a Nissan Altima and was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:30 p.m. accident, Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said.
The driver of the car, whose name was immediately known was uninjured and was alone in the car.

DELTONA -- A 12-year-old Deltona boy was hospitalized Thursday night after suffering burns on his face and chest, a Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman said.
