Michael Konash

March 20, 1919 - June 23, 2010 Funeral service for Michael Konash, 91, of Edgewater, who died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Margate Health Care Center, Margate, Florida, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel, with Chaplain Beverly Richardson, Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Born in New York City, New York, Mr. Konash served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, and was a supervisor in communications research and development for Lucent Technologies. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 48, Ponce Inlet.

Survivors include 3 sons, Larry (Anne) Konash of Mahwah, New Jersey, Ken (Kathleen) Konash of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Dick (Kelly) Konash of Stow, Massachusetts; 1 brother, Al (Peg) Konash of Coral Springs; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Herta on April 15, 2003. He will be missed by his surviving family and friends.
