Elizabeth Alberta Bellamy

Memorial service for Elizabeth Alberta Bellamy, age 80, of Oak Hill, who passed into Eternal Life on Monday, August 9, 2010 at her home, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14 at First Baptist Church, Oak Hill, with the Reverend Emerson Bolton, Sr., officiating.

Born in Carrabelle, Florida, Mrs. Bellamy moved from the Florida Panhandle to this area in 1930, attended FSU and graduated from Stetson University. She was a beloved school teacher for 24 years at Burns Elementary, a member of First Baptist Church, and the Garden Club, all in Oak Hill. Mrs. Bellamy was a world traveler with her husband, Jack, an avid reader, city historian, and bird watcher. She was loved by all who met her, and knew no strangers.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jack; 2 daughters, Rebecca Lynn Ferguson (Robert) and Leslie Bellamy, all of Oak Hill; 1 granddaughter, Kamisha Wood of Tampa; 1 grandson, Cameron Wood (Christy) of New Smyrna Beach; 3 great grandchildren, Jade, Cameryn and Madison; 1 great granddaughter-to-be, Brinkley; 1 brother, William F. Burns of Munford, Alabama; and 1 sister, Barbara B. Walker of Oak Hill.
