Harry Carver Lewis

Harry Carver Lewis, born January 6, 1924 to Harry and Ada Lewis in Pemberton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, August 16, 2010. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Harry and his wife, Audrey retired and moved to Edgewater in June 1986. He was a lifelong member of Odd Fellows and loved spending time with his family. Harry enjoyed NASCAR, dirt track races, fishing, camping, traveling, boating, and riding his Harley.

Survivors include 3 sons, Albert and his wife Edith, of Edgewater, Alan and Sylvia, of Edgewater, and Rob and Arline, of Mims; 2 daughters, Frances Liller and Steve McAtee, and Susan Bryan and her husband Jim, all of Edgewater; 1 sister, Margaret Mashtare, of Ewensville, New Jersey; 6 grandchildren, Albert Lewis, Jr. and his wife Maria, of Shamong, New Jersey, Derek Lewis of Medford, New Jersey, Jamie Liller and his wife Katie, of New Smyrna Beach, Jeffrey Liller and his wife Jennifer, of Edgewater, Alexandra Lewis of Mt. Holly, New Jersey, and Daniel Lewis of Mims; 6 great grandchildren, Elliot, Aidan, Paige, Kylee, Gavin, Anabelle, plus great grandbaby Lewis on the way; 5 sister-in-laws, Joan Pierce and her husband Jim, Frances Culbertson and her husband, Stan, Mary Moffitt, Diane Colby, and Ethel Lewis; and 2 brother-in-laws, Frank Wing and his wife Cathy, and Wesley Willets. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey in 2002, his sister Mildred Willets, his brother Harold, and his beloved black lab, Jake.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Harry's memory to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, Florida or Southeast Volusia Humane Society, 1200 S. Glencoe Road, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168.
