The event was put on by Team Ocean Walkers, who hoped to raise $2,500, which would bring the organization's totals to its planned $5,000 for Relay For Life, the annual community fundraiser that raises money for cancer research.

"We're hoping this pushes us over the edge," said Mac McClelland, whose wife, Sue, organized the event from 5 to 8 p.m. at the beachside winery-restaurant on Third Avenue.

Patrons paid $10 each to attend -- with $5 going to the relay team and $5 to SoNapa.

There were several prominent community members in attendance, including City Commissioner Jack Grasty and City Commissioner Judy Reiker and her husband, Guy Mariande.
