SEVILLE -- Crews from Volusia County Water Resources and Utilities will shut off the water for all 63 homes in the New Hope Villas subdivision in Seville for about four hours beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, so they can replace a section of pipe on the subdivision’s water storage tank.

"When water service is restored, residents will be under a precautionary boil water notice," Volusia County spokeswoman Pat Kuehn said. "They are advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking or ice-making. It is not necessary to boil water for showering or other external uses."

The notice is expected to be removed after two consecutive days of satisfactory tests. However, customers should wait until they receive a rescission notice from the utility before resuming normal usage.

Notices will be hung on doors Friday to prepare customers for the outage.
