PORT ORANGE -- A man and a woman have been charged with breaking into at least 30 vehicles in the city and police here have put out an alert to other area cop shops that might have similar unsolved incidents.

The photo at left of a 2001 Chrysler PT is alleged by Port Orange police to be the car driven by the two people charged with multiple vehicle break-ins.  The tag on this car is H60-7XQ. Anyone who has information about this car possibly being seen where a vehicle break-in has occurred is asked to call Port Orange police detective Mike Wallace at 386-506-5885.

The Port Orange Police Department's Criminal Investigative Division put out a press release Thursday stating in part, "Any agencies with similar cases may wish to investigate the subjects' activities in their cities."

Arrested Wednesday were Port Orange residents Steven Collins, 23, of 102 Cambridge Drive, and Jill Hargy, 27, of 812 Sugar House Blvd.
Both are accused of breaking into 30 unlocked vehicles parked overnight and stealing jewelry, electronics and cash, for which they have been charged with multiple counts of bureglary and grand theft. The burglaries occurred during the last two months, police said.
