Port Orange police release composite sketch of suspect purse-snatching victim says robbed her earlier today

Here is a Port Orange police composite sketch of a robbery suspect as described by a purse-snatching victim who reported the strong arm robery at 12:15 p.m. Monday.

PORT ORANGE --A woman waiting for a Votran bus shortly after noon today said she was robbed of her purse by a woman who jumped out of a van that pulled over and then jumped back in and sped off, Port Orange police said of the 12:15 p.m. incident.

Here is a synopsis of what happened: Port Orange police "responded to the convenience store located at 3790 Ridgewood Avenue in reference to reported strong armed robbery. The victim advised officers as she was waiting at the Votran Bus Stop at the intersection of Herbert Street and Ridgewood Avenue, a female suspect exited the passenger side of a dark blue SUV (vehicle was east bound on Herbert Street)."

 The victim told police the SUV appeared clean and possibly had tinted windows. There was a “family” sticker in the right hand corner of the rear window, containing an unknown number of people. There was no description of the driver of the SUV. The vehicle was last observed traveling southbound on Ridgewood Avenue and then turning east bound at Dunlawton Avenue.

The female suspect is described as a white woman, 17 to 20 years old, with a thin build, about 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 7 or slighly taller, with blonde hair and light blue or green eyes. She was wearing a light blue sweatshirt, possibly hooded, with tight fitting sweat pants, dark blue in color.
