DAYTONA BEACH -- Perhaps the getting the pole for tonight's Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway in a blind draw is an omen of good things to come for Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The 75-lap non-points race will be broadcast 8 p.m. ET on FOX. Earnhardt, who won the Shootout in 2003 and 2008, secured the pole in a blind drawing Friday night. He'll be joined by three-time Shootout winner Tony Stewart, who starts second. Carl Edwards is third and Denny Hamlin is fourth.

Two-time defending shootout winner Kevin Harwick starts 18th.

Here is the format for the race: Segments of 25 and 50 laps, with a 10-minute break between.
