NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- What a difference a week makes when it comes to the weather. Rainfall was the order of the morning Wednesday before giving way to sunny skies.

Rainfall at Daytona Beach International Airport recorded .42 inches a rain, far less than the 3 inches-plu from the nasty thunderstorm the previous Wednesday that knocked out power to thousands and felled numerous trees -- some into homes.

But on this rainy morning, Felix Mathew of Alberta, Canada, didn't have a problem with the weather, even as his Harley-Davidson was exposed in the parking lot of the Denny's restaurant on State Road 44.

"Just last week we got a foot of wet, wet snow," the 49-year-old said.
