Where is the Observer newspaper located and how is it that Steve Dennis is still with the CRA?

There is a lot to report that reeks, absolutely reeks, and it has direct impact on you, the taxpayer. For example, Steve Dennis, vice chairman of the New Smyrna Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, has exercised a loophole to stay on the board, something he has now done two years in a row. And his good friends, Michelle and Bob Lott, are benefactors of the CRA through the Observer newspaper, which is no longer on Flagler Avenue. In fact, the Observer doesn't have a home, at least not one that is legal. Two weeks ago, they didn't even have a full newspaper, but that didn't stop them from running a full page ad for Bert Fish Medical Center, the hospital that is so cash-strapped.

We'll have more on these issues in the next 24 to 48 hours. In the meantime, call the Observer, 427-1000, and ask them where they are located. They can't because they do not have an office. The Daytona Beach News-Journal has an office. So does the West Volusia Beacon. So, too, does Hometown News. NSBNews.net has an office. But where oh where is the Observer office?

We'll also tell you why they are no longer on Flagler Avenue and why they left their former office on Canal Street. And yes, we are in contact with the state authorities and we'll update you on that as well.
