Ormond Beach cops: Bank of America branch on Granada robbed

ORMOND BEACH -- A robber claiming to be armed, fled the Bank of America, 1454 Granada Blvd. on Tuesday with an undisclosed amount of cash, Ormond Beach police said.

The man, approached the teller at 3:20 p.m. and showed her a note demanding money and implying he was armed.

"The teller complied and the suspect then walked out of the bank," Ormond Beach Police Lt. Kenny Hayes said.

Ormond Beach Police units, assisted by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office patrol and helicopter searched for the robber, but were unable to find him.

He was described as white and in his mid-20s, 5 feet 10 with a thin build. He was wearing a long sleeve blue plaid shirt and a light colored hat.
