The Transfers have a great new album: "Going to the Show"

Daytona's original pop/rock band, "The Transfers," have been consistently writing good music for a few years now and their new song "It Will Happen Again" is no exception.

The Transfers

Here is a cut from the band, The Transfers.

If its lush arrangments and mature pop hooks are any kind of a preview of what's to come of their new EP, "Going to the Show," then I believe greater Daytona Beach might just have something to be proud of in the way of original rock music.

In a town of full of bar bands that play mostly cover songs, this is no small cause for celebration. The song itself seems to mix a variety of decades and styles into a smooth and cohesive blend that is easily listenable on repeat. There is even a hinted echo of '60s pop with their inclusion of electric piano amidst other apparent influences throughout the song that center more around the late '70s and '80s.

This seems especially appropriate for a track with lyrics concerned with time such as this one. Speaking of which, there isn't much time left before the release of their new CD, so if you're wondering where to find me on Oct. 7, I'll be at their CD release party in New Smyrna Beach at the Beachside Tavern.

Perhaps I'll see you there too...
