Passenger traffic up 1 percent in September at Daytona Beach International Airport

DAYTONA BEACH -- Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport was up 1 percent in September, compared with September of a year ago.

During September, 39,547 passengers flew into and out of Daytona Beach. For the 12 months ending September 30, passenger traffic has increased 13 percent over the prior 12 months -- from 476,288 to 538,572.

The traffic increase in September continues a very positive trend that started in November of 2009, Volusia County spokesman Dave Byron said. Since then for 23 of the past 24 months the airport has experienced positive traffic growth over the prior year, he said.

The load factors in September were at 92 percent of available seats filled.
