Santorum, Gingrich and Paul need to go home so Romney can battle Obama

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Of all the Republican candidates Mitt Romney is probably the most talented, brightest and most accomplished. It's time for Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul to fold their tents and go home.

If they drop out, Romney's energies and resources and those of the Republican Party can focus directly on Barack Obama. While the others battle it out with Romney, that means Obama is going untouched.

Ironically, while the Supreme Court looks at Obamacare, Romney has an albatross as well, though  not as great as Obama's. There was the “Romney care” bill in Massachusetts when he was governor.

Despite this, Romney would make an excellent chief executive.

In the area of business Romney was a principal in Bain which is considered by most including myself as the premier consulting firm in the area of business strategy. He started an off shoot company called Bain Capital which has been very successful.

Romney is famous for saving the Winter Olympics from bankruptcy and getting the facility built on time and within budget. One thing he did to reduce the costs of the Olympics was to stop the construction of expensive bathroom facilities which were going to be torn down after the Olympics. They were replaced by porta potties. He increased the revenues by stopping the practice of giving away prime, high-priced seats to dignitaries. The dignitaries were put in the nose bleed section and the prime seats were sold to cash paying customers.

Romney also staved off an unnecessary tax hike in Massachusetts. The public was slated to vote on the subject and it looked as if they were going to vote for a tax hike. In a sudden move, Romney had the state print up a set of property tax bills for each resident which showed what they would be paying if the measure passed. This did the trick and the measure was defeated.

Obama's socialist policies are far too costly for Santorum, Gingrich and Paul not to rally around Mitt Romney before it's too late.
