Helping the less fortunate means blessings in return

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- They don't want to get mentioned, but I want to thank them for helping the less fortunate among us in Southeast Volusia at Thanksgiving and again at Christmas.

When it comes to helping less fortunate among us, Henry Frederick and his wife, Sera, of NSBNews.net / Headline Surfer have been a blessing to needy families during these important holidays. They donated money to the Allen Chapel AME Thanksgiving Food Drive to help needy families have a warm meal. They also helped with the church's Christmas Toy Drive and and even "sponsored" a family at Christmas with toys and food. They gave up their own family Christmas to make that happen.

We want to say "thank you" to them for giving up their Christmas for a struggling family to have one of their own. Without their help and those of others, needy families in Southeast Volusia Volusia might have nothing at all for the holidays. It's important for people to step up to the plate. When they say they can't, think about those people who really have nothing.

There were organizations like the Edgewater Alliance Church, the Salvation Army and others that helped out.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it's not for show, it's not for profit. The Fredericks didn't want me to mention them, especially after the holidays because they didn't want to be singled out. I asked them over and over again to please let me mention their names because they're setting a great example for others. If they could help out, then others could and should help.

When do something good from the heart to help others you'd be surprised about the blessings you'll get in return. These blessings may not be monetary, but they are gifts for good works.
