Post-election coverage continues today

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- It's a definitely a chilly morning out there, but a nice brisk walk with the dog has given me that burst of energy needed to get the day started.

After months of intense campaign coverage leading up to Tuesday's general election, I am tired, but glad it's over; especially not to have to see those political ads on TV. Even the top of our website seems barren without all of the political ads, which helped to pay bills.

Today, we'll continue focusing on individual races in our post-election coverage, plus we'll have stories we didn't get a chance to work on for one reason or another, including the Homecoming King and Queen halftime show of the Cudas 56-0 win over Deltona. And, of course, we'll have coverage of tonight's home game against Seabreeze.

We'll also have photos and a video from the recent New Smyrna Beach Halloween Parade on Canal Street. We have new blogs from Dave Beilstein and Michael Visconti that deal with the elections and a new blog from teen Pavlina Osta of Pot Orange who interviewed financial guru Suze Orman.

In addition to these, we'll take a look back either today or during the weekend at the campaign visits of First Lady Michelle Obama, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and others, plus a special look at why this Biketoberfest stood out.
