NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Extremely heavy traffic caused our database to crash the better part of the last two days. Hopefully, the problem has been fixed.
This is a harsh reality for this small business operation with very limited revenues while trying to handle the lever-increasing volume of online users.
Hopefully, the advertising will pick up so that we can make necessary upgrades to prevent these crashes.
For us, it's both a blessing and a curse: A blessing because it shows us more and more people are turning to us for their news, even those in other parts of Florida, the country and around the world.
The Central Florida visitor interest has more than doubled since October when several area print media outlets started charging monthly "paid subscription" fees to access their online versions.
We remain one of the few free online media outlets that provides daily news content. Thanks to everyone for their patience as we continue to try and build an event better medium.
