Rain could be a factor for Sunday's Daytona 500

Daytoa International Speedway weather outlook / Headline SurferDAYTONA BEACH -- With only a 20 percent chance of showers tonight, it should be a great truck race under the lights at Daytona Intenational Speedway, but you might want to wear a coat.

It's going to be 80 degrees today, but the temperature will dip to 65 degrees tonight.

The same holds true Saturday night for the Nationwide race, though the chance of rain will be 40 percent. If it rains, it could make for a long night.

Weather could be a factor for Sunday's running of the Daytona 500 with a 60 percent chance of rain.

Of course, last year's Daytona 500 was delayed by rain, during which the famous track dryer crash occurred where Juan Pablo Montoya careened into one of these vehicles, causing a mjor explsion and damage to the track.
