Larger server being readied to handle increased traffic

Analytics for Headline SurferGoogle Analytics show popularity of HeadlineSurfer.com in the Orlando Metropolitan area, especially in New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach areas. The dots show visitor interest from other parts of Florida as well.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The reality has set in for our little Internet newspaper operation here in New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach. We have purchased a much larger server to handle the increased traffic volume in recent months.

This will mean faster speed and more people accessing our site. The emphasis will be on HeadlineSurfer.com and lesser on our initial NSBNews.net and VolusiaNews.net, though, all three URLs will bring users to Headline Surfer regardless.

We'll carry the "Headline Surfer" name in the Google news directories as well as the search engines for Google, Bing and Yahoo.

We hope to switch over by early next week. It's a major expense, but one for which we had no choice but to absorb as we continue to grow in visitors.

We're hoping the advertising will continue to grow with the operation as we come closer to our fifth anniversary on April 7.
