n Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews and I didn't speak up because I was't a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't trade Unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me and by that time no one was left to speak up.
In America, we have something going on here that every time I think of this quote but my version goes like this. First, they came for the nativity and we did not fight because it was only once a year and we did not want to offend.
Then they renamed the Christmas Tree a "Holiday Tree" and we were accommodating. Then Merry Christmas and Happy Easter became "Happy Holidays" and we did nothing.
Now the Easter Bunny is no more because he has "Easter" in his name.
Recently, Heritage Elementary in Alabama said they would remove "Easter" from its activities including the bunny and eggs because it did not want to infringe on others. They would keep the bunny but not "Easter."
One idea they had was to call it an academic egg hunt and then they decided to use different shapes instead of eggs.
What is next and will there be any Christians around to speak up?
We are letting other groups dictate how we can speak in public that soon Christians will have no rights.
What does that say to children in Christians households? To me it says you cannot promote your beliefs, but hide them because you might offend. Christianity is being attacked.
In recent times, Atheists under the guise of the First Amendment are destroying the meaning of the holidays for America and America's children. It is time for us to take a stand before all Christian meaning in the Christmas and Easter is eradicated.
