Busy August calendar in Port Orange

PORT ORANGE -- August is a busy month in municipal government beginning with Tuesday's City Council meeting.

The meeting gets under way at 6:30 p.m. in the Port Orange Council chambers. The following night the Code Enforcement Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers.

Then on Aug. 9, is a History Lecture: Outlaws & Gangsters (rescheduled from June) at the Adult Annex Center, 3738 Halifax Drive.

And that night under the stars (9 p.m.) is the showing of “Madagascar 3,” at the City Center Amphitheater. Then on Aug. 20 is a City Council meeting in the council chambers; on Aug. 22  is a meeting of the Planning Commission, and finally, on Aug. 27, is a City Council meeting.
