DAYTONA BEACH -- Swells in the surf at mid-day are 2 feet at 8.7 seconds with waves at 1 to 2 feet high and water temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s. Winds are southwest at 9 mph.

The National Weather Service in Melbourne is calling for a 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms in greater Daytona Beach with a high of 89.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Windy, with an east northeast wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday Night: Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 76. East wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
