SANFORD, Fla. --  19 years have passed, though to me it still seems like yesterday.

But, in fact, it was 19 years ago. Nineteen years ago, today, to be precise, that blood was spilled on American soil by foreign terrorists who hijacked four airplanes out of Boston - sending two directly into each of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers, a third into the Pentagon and a fourth crashing in a field in Shanksville, Pa., when passengers confronted the terrorist hijackers on board and averted a possible strike at the Capitol Building or the White House.

It's one of those rare instances where you remember where you were and what was going on in your life when suddenly, it seemed like everything just stopped.

Time was frozen as the replays of the first plane crashing into one of the Twin Towers was  repeated over and over again on CNN.

Time was frozen as the replays of the second plane crashing into the second of the Twin Towers  was repeated over and over again.

Time was frozen when the replays were shown of the third plane that had already crashed into the Pentago - the images of the flames of a ceumpled outside wall of the Pentago was replayed in video footage over and over again.
