Deltona library hosts Backyard Chickens 101

DELTONA, Fla. -- Welcome to Backyard Chickens 101.

Learn how to raise backyard chickens during a free program at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave.

Sharon Gamble, a livestock agent with the University of Florida/Volusia County Extension, will explain how to get set up, where to get chickens, how to care for chicks and adults, and how to find out if your property is approved for chicken farming.
