Flagler Avenue hosts Art Walk and Wine Tasting Saturday, March 27

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Historic Flagler Avenue is the place to be on Saturday, March 21, for the Art Walk and Wine Tasting event.

The fun begins 10 a.m. and ends 6 p.m. During this time, attendees can take an enjoyable stroll along the avenue while enjoying the wide variety of art works featured inside galleries, as well as by several visiting artists under canopies, and also participate in a "Wine Tasting."

The wine tasting portion of Art Walk, organized by the Flagler Avenue Hospitality Group, runs from 1 to 6 p.m. and offers a progressive wine tasting along the avenue where participants can taste their choice from more than 40 showcased wines.

Participants purchase "tasting" passports for $20 at the tent at the northeast corner of Flagler Avenue and Cooper Street. The passport will include 20 tasting tickets and a keepsake glass allowing attendees to select the wines they would like to sample in exchange for their tickets. Some locations feature both one-ticket and multi-ticket wines to sample. A "Wine Tasting" flyer will list host
locations and what wines they are featuring. Ta Da Gallery, one of the wine tasting sites, will be offering cheese and crackers in the afternoon along with Gulluh Gourmet shrimp dip and crab dip.

Art Walk is held the fourth Saturday of each month along the quaint five-blocks from the Indian River to the ocean. The popular event features painting, jewelry, ceramics, glass blowing, sculpture, fabric
arts and more. There will be entertainment and a special "punch card" prize drawing presented by the Gallery Group of Flagler Avenue.

The Art Walk prize drawing punch card is on the Wine Tasting flyer, so pick one up and get it punched at each of the sponsoring galleries for a chance to win the monthly prize. Galleria di Vetro Studio and Glass Gallery, 310 Flagler will donate this month's prize. The other sponsoring galleries are: Palms Up Pottery, 413 Flagler Ave.; Jewelry of Joy, 301 Flagler, and Ta Da Gallery, 113 Flagler Ave.

Rounding out the Art Walk attractions and fun are the many quaint shops, as well as a variety of dining options for every taste and budget. Palms Up Pottery will demonstrate the art of pottery making during Art Walk. and live glass and flame-working demonstrations will be presented Kyle Carni and Jason Lott at Galleria di Vetro.
