DELAND --New Smyrna Beach Middle School took home first place in a recent Black History Brain Bowl at Stetson University.
Members of the middle school team were Breon Clark, Anthony Little, Jalen Merrick and Devon Robinson. They were coached by Florida Crooms.
Each student won a desktop computer and software.
Spruce Creek won the high school division with each of the four students receiving a notebook computer and software.
