EDGEWATER, Fla. -- Human beings possess resiliency and indomitable spirit, which has been witnessed daily since the monster COVID-19 arrived.
We all have watched as some people went berserk and stripped store shelves with no thought to others at the beginning.
Lately, however people’s true colors have slowly but surely started to show. Our teachers banded together to be sure our children kept learning at home via the internet. Then regular people realized that some children have their only food for the day at school so they started packaging food for parents to pick up, if unable to do this they are donating badly needed blood or donating money to those who are helping.
People began to check on their elderly neighbors and helping them with whatever they needed.
More and more people are becoming more conscious of others and treating them with kindness. The majority of people in the entire world are self isolating without it even being mandated. Just today, Florida became the 30th of the 50 states in the US to mandate statewide Stat at Home orders. The order by Gov. Ron DeSantis goes into effect Friday. All around the world, we are all in this together.

There are always the exceptions to any rule in that there are also many who just are selfish, always have been and always will be. I am saddened to know this, but it is the truth. They do not possess common sense nor a caring bone in their bodies.
Fortunately, they are not the majority.
Many people have contracted the virus and many have recovered.
Unfortunately, the print and television news media do not report the latter statistics and dwell on the negative.
For example:
While the virus is a monster taking many lives daily, it will not prevail so long as we all follow the CDC guidelines such as social distancing. It shall be cast out eventually and when it is gone will you be happy with how you acted? Food for thought people.

I hope most of you will have done the right thing through the crisis and will be able to be proud of yourself for possessing that resilience and indomitable spirit. That is what will eventually save us all.
