Today final day to register to vote in Nov. 2 general elections

Sera and I like the early voting process rather than waiting until the last minute. It gives us a chance to think about the candidates and where they stand on the issues that are important to us. Plus, we have plenty of time to drive to the one location -- the New Smyrna Beach Library -- and not have to fight any crowds or worry about limited parking at our usual polling place, the Brannon Center.

The reason why I bring I bring this up now is today is the final day to register to vote for the Nov. 2 general elections.

You must be at least 18, a U.S, citizen and a resident of Florida and the county in which you seek to live, which in this case is Volusia.

Applications can be filled out at a supervisor of elections office, post offices, city halls and driver's license offices and online at volusia.org/elections.

Early voting for the Nov. 2 elections begins Oct. 18.

NSBNEWS.net encourages everyone to vote.

Like the primary, we will have our endorsements for you to consider and we are lining up a series of local debates that we'll videotape and post like we did in the New Smyrna Beach municipal elections.
