Tom Feeney believes in a strong America

I support Tom Feeney because he believes in virtually everything I do and acts accordingly.

In government, Feeney believes in a small government with limited powers. He believes that the constitution should be interpreted from the viewpoint of original intent rather than as a “living document.”

His ideas on the economy are completely in line with what classical economics tells us. That is a strong economy is built on low taxes, few regulations, sound money, unhindered foreign trade and a legal system that protects our property rights. This approach has been proven correct by experience as well as logic.

In foreign policy he believes in a strong America that can face the challenge of a world filled with “bad guys.”

In other domestic issues, the Oviedo incumbent Republican, whose district includes Southeast Volusia, believes that the trial lawyers have gotten out of hand and the system must be reformed to stop the “pillaging and devastation” caused by misuse of the legal system.

Having

spoken to him at length and heard him speak on many occasions I know that his knowledge of economics is as complete as our state of knowledge allows. In fact his talks on economic issues can be taken by the listeners as opportunities to learn about our economy and economic theory.

Not only does Tom Feeney talk the talk but he walks the walk. He consistently votes to cut spending and reduce the size of government. This can sometimes make him unpopular with some of the voters who want to get their hands on more taxpayer money.

Feeney has been supportive of the space center and the simulation industry around UCF because they are vital to national defense and bring jobs to Florida . He also supports the high tech corridor down I-4 for similar reasons.

As a state representative, Tom Feeney supported fiscal responsibility and measures that gave school choice to parents such as vouchers. School choice is one of the few ideas floating around that actually has resulted in improvement of public education.

To summarize, Tom Feeney is a candidate who closely follows the conservative ideal.
