PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- The Port Orange Fire Department is working an active fire on Interstate-95 between the Port Orange and South Daytona exits, which has shut down a stretch of I-95 near Mile Marker 256, according to police.

Expect delays on I-95 and Williamson Boulevard as traffic is being rerouted off the highway, cops said in a social media alert. just before 4 p.m. Sunday.

Nearly two dozen motor vehicles have reportedly burned at the Crazy Horse Campground near the Daytona Flea and Farmers Market at 1425 Tomoka Farms Road in Daytona Beach.

WESH Ch. 2 reported: Traffic cameras showed a vehicle on fire, with firefighters battling a nearby brush fire, forcing the shutdown of lanes near Mile Marker 256.

"Firefighters are monitoring conditions in nearby neighborhoods. No evacuations are necessary at this time," a news release said.

Officials added that the fire is expected to affect traffic as racegoers leave Daytona International Speedway following the Daytona 500.

This drew concerned responses from some local residents.

Lorraine Ludwico Stevens: "Car fire that spread to the brush near our neighborhood."

Another resident concurred:

"Started on the southbound side from a car or trailer on fire and jumped to the median and kept spreading. Looks like it also spread about a half mile north on the southbound side as well when we drove by about 130, they were both going," posted Briana Hale.

Shannon Jenkins Roe posted: Hopefully, lightning from the impending storm doesn’t make it worse … such bad timing. Stay safe, fire personnel!"

Bailey Putt added: It's gonna be bad when people try to leave after the race," referring to this afternoon's Daytona 500. I hope it rains soon, like it's supposed to.
