Deputies shoot Deltona man involved in domestic dispute

DELTONA -- Two Sheriff's deputies fired on a Deltona man Wednesday afternoon who had earlier shot his wife in the arm during a standoff. He was airlifted to Halifax Medical Centerand his wife transported by ambulance to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City.

Sheriff's Office: Woman robs convenience store near Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH -- A woman with a handgun robbed a convenience store Sunday near Daytona Beach, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

One employee was in the story when a woman with a handgun walked into Kelly's Food Mart, 1000 Derbyshire Road, and demanded cash. There were no shots fired or any injuries.

NSB Cops: Gunman robs Kangaroo Express

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A man armed with a handgun -- possibly a revolver -- robbed the Kangaroo Express, 2600 N. Dixie Freeway, at 9 p.m. Sunday and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, New Smyrna Beach police said. There were no injuries reported but the clerk "was pretty shaken up," police Sgt. Valerie Joyce said.

Edward Joseph Caputo, 80, died Wednesday, July 21,2010 at home, in the arms of his family as he had wished. Ed was born and raised in New Haven, CT but he was an active duty and reserve military officer in the United States Army, so "home" was wherever he and his beloved wife and children unpacked their boxes and made spaghetti sauce!
