Temporary lane closure on Dyer Boulevard

KISSIMMEE, FFla. -- The contractor for the Martin Luther King phase 3 construction project has started planned utility work on Dyer Boulevard between Commerce Boulevard and the Kissimmee Gateway Airport entrance.

Flagmen are onsite to maintain traffic during working hours and two way traffic will be re-opened at the end of each work shift. Drivers are cautioned to please pay attention and follow the detour as they transit through these work zones. 300-pound black bear that bit Longwood woman on butt captured and euthanized; cub sent to sanctuary

LONGWOOD, Fla. -- The 14-month-old Florida black bear cub whose mother attacked a Longwood resident March 16, will spend the rest of its life at EARS wildlife sanctuary near Citra in Marion County. The mother bear, hower, was put down Thursday whwn both were captured.
