Multimedia: Tropical Storm Isaias a yawner 60 miles east of Daytona & moving north toward the Carolinas

Pic above: Surfers were back at the World's Most Famous Beach in Daytona on Monday as if there was no major storm. As it turned out, Isaias was an almost non-factor. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla, - Here is the latest on Tropical Storm Isaias from the National Weather Service for greater Daytona Beach as of 5 am: TS Isaias is currently centered about 60 miles east of the Volusia County coast as it continues to move northward offshore towards the Florida-Georgia line about sunrise.

Daytona State College & satellite campuses will be open Monday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Daytona State College officials are actively monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias and are in communication with county and state emergency management teams.

With that said and based ased on current information, all Daytona State College campuses will re-open Monday.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- With a pre-recorded version of the national anthem are being playing, Jonathan Issac Isaac became the first NBA player not to kneel and also not to wear a Black Lives Matter T-shirt overr his uniform top before he and his Orlando Magic teammates played the Brooklyn Nets.

 

 

So much for Webster Barnaby's attack mailers against Erika Benfield: He finishes last in West Volusia chamber straw poll

DELTONA, Fla. -- So much for Webster Barnaby's attack mailers against fellow candidate Erika Benfield in the the three-way Aug. 18 GOP primary race for State Rep. 27.

Barnaby finished dead last in a straw poll vote held online Wednesday by the West Volusia Chamber of Commerce. Benfield was first with 63 votes, Zenaida Denizac was second with 43 votes, and Barnaby was third with 37 votes. The GOP primary winner faces Democrat candidate Delores Guzman who garnered 15 votes.
