Gov. Scott honors 137 veterans with service awards at Emory L. Bennett facility in Daytona Beach

Rick Scott, joined by Brigadier General James O. Eifert and retired Army Colonel Mike Prendergast, awarded 137 Florida veterans with the Governor’s Veterans Service Award for their service to Florida and the nation.
“The freedoms and opportunities that all Americans enjoy are a result of the service of our brave veterans, Scott said during the ceremony at the Emory L. Bennett State Veterans’ Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, one of six veterans’ nursing homes in the state. "This medal serves as a testament of thanks from Floridians everywhere.”
During the Tuesday ceremony, Governor Scott highlighted the service of one Florida veteran in particular, Lt Richard Oly:
