Macedonia church minister's Sunday visit part of 113th anniversary celebration

DAYTONA BEACH -- The Rev. Willie C. Barnes of Eatonville will be the featured speaker for the 11 a.m. Sunday service commemmorating the 113th anniversary of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Greater Friendship is located at 539 George W Engram Blvd. Barnes is the pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church in Eatonville.

 He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering.

Source: Jailed husband confessed to killings, but won't say where bodies are

DELTONA -- The Deltona mother and her children missing since Wednesday are confirmed dead, the victims all murdered, Headline Surfer® has confirmed.

Volusia County Sheriff's investigators have yet to recover the bodies of 28-year-old Yessenia Suarez and her two children, 8-year-old Michael Otto and 9-year-old Thalia Otto, while the suspected killer, Luis Toledo, the woman's husband, remains jailed without bail on a domestic violence charge the before she and the kids disappeared.

Soap opera not over: Case of Shellie Zimmerman's shattered iPad ongoing

LAKE MARY -- The lead defense counsel for George Zimmerman, who was acquitted at trial of second-degree murder in the gunshot slaying of Trayvon Martin in neighboring Sanford, was willing to write out a check to cover $4,400 worth of items his client's estranged wife and her parents claimed were stolen from the home the couple lived in, but Lake Mary cops declined.

DELTONA -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a mother and her two children who are considered missing and endangered under suspicious circumstances stemming from a domestic violence situation in Lake Mary involving her husband who has since been apprehended and jailed in Daytona Beach.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- When all is said and done, Southeast Volusia Advertising Director Carl Watson understands what his No. 1 priority is as head of the tourism effort in greater New Smyrna Beach: "It's putting heads in beds."

Watsion added for emphasis, "I think aboiut putting heads in beds when I wake up in the morning and I think about putting heads in beds when I get ready to go to sleep at night."

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- An off-duty deputy was arrested Saturday night on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after at least one motorist called 9-1-1 to report she was "all over the road" and even driving in the oncoming traffic lane. When she was pulled over, fellow deputies saw that her 7-year-old daughter was in the front passenger seat.
