NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- When a press release was emailed by the New Smyrna Beach Police Department to local media outlets a week ago Friday, it stated $1,220 in cash was missing from three tampered envelopes in police evidence room. But an investigative report for the city by an outside consultant cites $8,070.05 for 19 envelopes as missing.
