Circuit Judge James R. Clayton sent the jury into the jury room to begin deliberations at 11:41 a.m. to determine guilt or innocence for 22-year-old Russell Charles Bradshaw, charged with capitl murder in the Sept. 21, 2006, throat-slash slaying of 21-year-old Lisa Memro of New Smyrna Beach.

DELAND -- Jurors heard the accused killer's own admission for the first time earlier today on a recording of a 911 call he made that he was responsible for the murder of a young New Smyrna Beach woman that turned out to be a literal bloodbath.
 

NSB cops warn merchants of fake $100 bills

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- merchants throughout New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater and Oak Hill are being urged by local police to be on the lookout for phony money -- specifically $100 bills.

New Smyrna Beach police detectives say so far they have received three reports of fake $100 bills being used at stores in the city.

Jacksonville man jailed on warrants charging him with NSB carjacking in May

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 19-year-old Jacksonville man is being held without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail on felony warrants accusing him of carkjacking a woman at the K-Mart shopping center in May and taking her purse, police reported.
